📜 eFootball Rules — Rest of the World
📌
Rules apply to the Mediterranean Esports Games (PES Expert organization) · Version v1.0.0
1. PARTICIPATION
Participation
  • a. All participants must be 16+ years old
  • b. Persons who are not excluded by applicable law, tournament organizer rules, or host rules are allowed to participate
  • c. Each National Federation is solely responsible for the truthfulness of the data provided to EMG within the entry submission
2. PREPARATION TIME
Preparation Time
The first 5 minutes before start time (unless otherwise specified) and 5 minutes between games. Teams should use this time to check whether they are optimally prepared. During this time, players must:
  • a. Log in to their console and start the game
  • b. Check all equipment, internet connection, controller battery, etc.
  • c. Check the official schedule for their opponent and follow the necessary steps provided by the local organizer to start a match
  • d. Use of any hardware required must be communicated to tournament staff before installation
  • e. Signal to the opposing player that the game is ready
  • f. Violation of preparation time is penalized with a warning, which, if repeated, leads to an increasing penalty such as a default win for the opponent (in BO3 series, the opponent gets a default win only for the first match)
3. STARTING TIME
Starting Time
The round start time is determined by the tournament organizer. It is either a fixed time or the end of the previous round (on average end time + 10 minutes). At their scheduled start time, all tournament officials and players must be ready. It is the responsibility of tournament staff to announce the start times.
5. GAME FORMAT
Game Format
All matches must be played in Exhibition Match mode, using official partner clubs and uniform overall ratings (stat. Balancing enabled).
  • DLC/Updates: For the EMG, the current patch and downloadable content (DLC) available in that country is used.
6. TIEBREAKER IN GROUP STAGE
Tiebreaker in group stage
If several participants have an equal win-loss difference at the end of a group stage, their ranking order will be determined based on the following criteria. Only matches played between the tied teams will be taken into consideration.
  • a. The head-to-head result, if not applicable
  • b. Goal difference (in all games), if not applicable
  • c. Playoff tiebreak match if needed — BO1
7. SIDE SELECTION AND SEATING SIDE
Side selection and seating
Players may mutually agree on who will be the Home and Away team (and the corresponding seating sides — Player 1 on the left, Player 2 on the right). If no agreement is reached, the designation from the official match schedule applies:
  • The player listed as Home plays as the Home team and sits on the left side (Player 1)
  • The player listed as Away sits on the right side (Player 2)
  • For return matches (Away leg), players must switch sides and roles
  • In a deciding match (e.g. Game 5 in a BO5 format), the Home/Away designation from the schedule again determines seating and side selection, unless both players agree otherwise
8. MATCH SETTINGS
Match Settings
Complete settings (Game Settings, Stadium, Camera & Audio, Match Screen) are located in the Settings section. They include three groups: (a) Game settings, (b) Stadium settings, (c) Camera and audio settings, (d) Match screen settings.
11. RESULTS
Results
A result not confirmed by the referee shall not be counted.
12. COACHING
Coaching
Participants may designate one (1) person as their coach during the tournament. Players may consult with the coach once at the end of every game. Deliberately giving or receiving advice to/from any other person during the game is not allowed and may result in penalties for both parties.
14. MALFUNCTION
Malfunction
a. When the console or controller malfunctions, the player must report it to the referee.
b. In the situations listed below, the relevant set becomes void and a rematch is conducted:
  • In the case of unidentified bugs or unintentional occurrences of bugs
  • When a win/loss decision is impossible to determine from the progress of the match
15. CHANGE OF RULES
Change of Rules
a. These rules apply to the Mediterranean Esports Games and may be altered in the following cases:
  • i. Rules are subject to change after the release of new patches
  • ii. Upon discovery of other reasonable factors
  • iii. Official head referee decision
b. The referees may also judge cases not specifically covered in this rulebook, and their authority extends to the tournament as a whole in addition to this rulebook. Any changes take effect from the moment they are communicated to the participants.
Goal of the rulebook
“The goal of these rules is to ensure a fair, enjoyable, and organized environment for all participants in competitions within the PES Expert organization. Orderliness, respect, and responsibility are key values that every player should keep in mind.”
